Gamer Confession Tag!

It’s a Wednesday, its way too hot in the UK for my poor northern self (30 degrees) and after a few reasonably heavy topics I thought it would be nice to do something a bit more chill. The Gamer Confession Tag I first spotted on A Geeky Gal‘s blog the other day.

As with any tag lets jump into it!

A game everyone loves that you can’t stand

Ok so a game I cannot stand, well I have quite the list. But thinking about it if I had to pick one it would be Call Of Duty. I’ve never been much of a fan of first person shooters in general but for me COD has always been my least favourite. I don’t particularly find them entertaining or interesting from a narrative point of view (which I know isn’t the reason why anyone would play COD)!
A game that you love, but no one else seems to

It’s hard to say really but I would have to go with Life is Strange. It is an amazing game and a lot of people love it but I had to pick something and I know from experience that one of my friends totally dislikes the game’s ending. It is somewhat predictable and tropey but the main issue is that the ending practically makes all your choices pointless (if that is you sacrifice Chloe). Personally I loved it but I can see  how annoying it can seem.

An older game you haven’t finished, and probably never will

That’s an easy one, I would go with Watch Dogs 2. I loved the first game in the series and bought the next game right away but it didn’t work at first on Steam for some reason. About three months later I got the game working, played an hour or so and stopped. I had already watched a playthrough so couldn’t get into it. Saying that I do have quite the list of unplayed games thanks to Steam sales and humble bundle giveaways some I will get round to but I know there are some I won’t.

A guilty pleasure game

A guilty pleasure game? I’d have to go with City Skylines. Its super satisfying to build a giant city and its even more rewarding to fix issues like traffic congestion etc. (I know exciting right? It’s one of those games I can sit back with a good old cup of tea and watch the world I made tick over!

A game you really love but haven’t played in a long time

Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Hands down my favourite game of all time but its was released all the way back in 2006! It’s still fun to jump into now and again but games have come a long way. Fingers crossed for the Skyblivion Mod!

A game you never play seriously but others do

Any massively multiplayer game. I’m not usually social enough to engage majorly in the social aspects of online games ever MMORPG’s (which kinda defeats their purpose). I also am not competitive enough, I don’t have the interest to sink the time or money into it to get the best loot boxes or become some level 1 million awesome looking player.

A game you completed but hated it by the end

This is a tough one, I would have to go with a similar response to A Geeky Gal and say that if I don’t like it I won’t finish it.

A game you thought you’d enjoy, but didn’t

Bioshock Infinite, it would be the first Bioshock game I have played, shocking I know, it looks great but I just couldn’t get into it.

A game you didn’t think was for you, and then loved

Fallout 4, I had never played a Fallout game at the point it was released and was of the mindset that if there isn’t magic or swords its not for me. Of course that’s not true and after being persuaded by a friend to play it I found I loved the game!

A game you are still excited for that hasn’t come out yet

I think it would be easier to just list them:

  • Dying Light 2
  • Walking Dead Final Episode (Telltale)
  • Elder Scrolls 6

With that I have confessed everything in regards to my gaming habits! If you want to do the tag too here are the questions below and I look forward to seeing your own answers!
