On Friday I fly to Stockholm for a 5 day holiday and naturally any holiday is the perfect time to try to break through a reading backlog! Looking at the insane amount of unread books on my shelves I definitely need to get some serious reading done. Well that or I could just open a library instead!
Only being a way for a few days I’ve had to be selective about what books I bring and out of the 10 possibilities I’ve selected two and it’s a rather eclectic mix!
First up I’m bringing The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman. I’ve already covered the other books in her Invisible Library series on here and can not wait to get through The Lost Plot. The Burning Page was amazing so I am really looking forward to jumping in to it! I’m hoping to read in time to read the next in the series when it comes out later this year! With a rare book theft, dragons and the possibility of war in an alternate 1920s prohibition America I can’t wait!
Somewhat in contrast to my usual vein of fantasy and fiction the second book I’ve packed is a little different: Wicca A Modern Guide To Witchcraft and Magick by Harmony Nice. Harmony Nice is a great youtuber I have watched for a few years now and I’ve been super excited since she revealed that this book was being released in October! Wicca A Modern Guide covers the basics of Wicca and Paganism and should be an interesting read.I don’t necessarily believe all aspect of Wicca but I love reading and exploring other faiths and belief systems out there.
I really can’t wait to touch down in Sweeden and I’m still going to be posting as normal too! Not to mention there will hopefully be a few Swedish/ Viking themed posts coming! All in all I’ve got quite a varied reading selection to get through and while writing this post I thought of an interesting question.
What book have you read that doesn’t fit in with your usual genre/reading preferences? – add your answers in the comments below!
Thanks for reading to the end!
